Censor.NET citing BBC Ukraine reports that surveillance cameras show that at 05.00 a.m. the mosque was approached by a man in a light-color hoody and started throwing firebombs. In addition, a swastika was drawn on a fence close to the mosque.
"The manner of the man shows that he was prepared. He knows how to light Molotov cocktails and he quickly threw three bottles at the mosque and disappeared," the mosque's imam Muhammad Islamov said.
The press service of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Crimea noted that the building of the mosque is practically unaffected. The guard discovered the fire and extinguished it without calling firemen. Law enforcement officers are working at the scene.
June 12 Crimea started celebration of "the Day of Russia," which will last four days until June 15.
