Implementation of martial law in the Donbass should be considered after Poroshenko’s inauguration –Yarema

First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Vitaly Yarema believes that the issue of implementation of martial law in Donetsk and Lugansk regions should be considered after the inauguration of the newly elected President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.

In the statement of today's briefing in the Cabinet of Minisrters he said: "I am confident that after the new president will get his powers, we shall hold an urgent meeting of the National Security and Defense Council. I am sure, all the necessary actions can be carried out within the Anti Terrorist Operation (ATO), and martial law which can be implemented in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions may both promote or harm the resolution of this complex issue", said the First Vice Prime Minister.

In particular, Yarema stated that martial law will limit civil rights of residents of those areas which mostly support Anti Terrorist Operation (ATO).

"We should be extremely cautious on this issue", summed Yarema.

As reported earlier, Yarema said that, in his opinion, it is inappropriate to introduce martial law in Donbas
