Candidate deputy to the City Council VadimShebanov told the press that members of the city electioncommission grossly violated the law "On the Election of Deputies ofLocal Councils" on several counts. "According to Article 75 of theCommission was not entitled to make a break when adopting theProtocol. The commission was not entitled to a recount withoutmembers of the precinct commissions. But the opposite happened.When the committee members realized that I am winning, theyannounced a break, and from 3.15 to 5.30 simply did not acceptprotocols, while developing a plan to falsify the results. Thenthey decided to count the ballots at four precincts where my winwas obvious and they did it without the PEC members," hesaid.
According to the candidate, PEC members were notallowed to recount by "athletic young men" headed by the Secretaryof the City Council Maxim Romanenko. "We won the elections by amargin of 97 votes, but 134 votes were taken away from us. Ballotswere spoiled deliberately. Only the ballots, in which I was markedas a winner, were spoiled by marking several candidates indifferent handwriting and pens of different colors," addedShebanov.
According to the candidate, he has evidence ofviolations by the Party of the Regions: "We have recorded employeesof Dnieper HPP being brought to polling station and forced toparticipate in the elections, and people were even taken off work,although they are not allowed to leave the premises." According toShebanov a lawsuit has been prepared against the illegal actions ofmembers of the city commission and regarding a number of otherviolations.
According to the decision of the Dnipropetrovskcity election commission the representative of the Party ofRegions, chief engineer of the Dnieper HPP Klochenko Vasyl waselected the member of the City Council being ahead of Shebanov by37 votes.
On Tuesday, representatives in Batkivschynaannounced a picket of Dnipropetrovsk City Council at 12.00 againstelection fraud and the use of administrative resources in themidterm elections in the region, and representatives of Svoboda areplanning a meeting at 2.30 p.m. at the Dnipropetrovsk OblastCouncil.
