Candidate deputy to the City Council Vadim Shebanov told the press that members of the city election commission grossly violated the law "On the Election of Deputies of Local Councils" on several counts. "According to Article 75 of the Commission was not entitled to make a break when adopting the Protocol. The commission was not entitled to a recount without members of the precinct commissions. But the opposite happened. When the committee members realized that I am winning, they announced a break, and from 3.15 to 5.30 simply did not accept protocols, while developing a plan to falsify the results. Then they decided to count the ballots at four precincts where my win was obvious and they did it without the PEC members," he said.
According to the candidate, PEC members were not allowed to recount by "athletic young men" headed by the Secretary of the City Council Maxim Romanenko. "We won the elections by a margin of 97 votes, but 134 votes were taken away from us. Ballots were spoiled deliberately. Only the ballots, in which I was marked as a winner, were spoiled by marking several candidates in different handwriting and pens of different colors," added Shebanov.
According to the candidate, he has evidence of violations by the Party of the Regions: "We have recorded employees of Dnieper HPP being brought to polling station and forced to participate in the elections, and people were even taken off work, although they are not allowed to leave the premises." According to Shebanov a lawsuit has been prepared against the illegal actions of members of the city commission and regarding a number of other violations.
According to the decision of the Dnipropetrovsk city election commission the representative of the Party of Regions, chief engineer of the Dnieper HPP Klochenko Vasyl was elected the member of the City Council being ahead of Shebanov by 37 votes.
On Tuesday, representatives in Batkivschyna announced a picket of Dnipropetrovsk City Council at 12.00 against election fraud and the use of administrative resources in the midterm elections in the region, and representatives of Svoboda are planning a meeting at 2.30 p.m. at the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council.
