The column headed by Chairman of the Political Council of Batkivschyna United Opposition Oleksandr Turchynov went to Hrushevskoho street.

Odarchenko noted that the opposition considers it necessary on the day of scheduled meeting of Ukraine-EU to attract the European community's attention to political repressions in the country.

"We're focused on European integration, but the government is doing everything to deliberately to spoil the associativity of Ukraine and the EU. Selective justice regarding opposition leaders Tymoshenko and Lutsenko is conscious step to break relationship with Europe in order to justify their desire to "sell" Ukraine to Russian Federation," stated Odarchenko.

He stated that the charges against Tymoshenko in the Shcherban case is nothing more than another attempt to strengthen Ukraine's confrontation with the EU.

"Thus, the authorities are trying to blacken the reputation of Tymoshenko and justify the existing mechanism of repression, as well as its own balancing between the EU and Russia", said Yurii Odarchenko before the procession.

The meeting is escorted by the police.

The beginning of the event was scheduled for 10:00. The march is dedicated to the EU-Ukraine summit, and the third anniversary of the presidential inauguration of Viktor Yanukovych.
