Prison Employees will not Take Tymoshenko to Kyiv - Witness Got Sick

Former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko will not be taken to the Kyiv Court of Appeals to participate in today's hearing.

This was announced in a statement released by the press service of the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine.

The ministry reported that today, the main office of the Kachanivska colony received several statements from Tymoshenko in which among other things, she points to a violation of her rights and demands to remove the surveillance cameras from the hospital room - "despite the fact that the court decision confirming the legality of the SPS actions regarding the implementation of CCTV has been provided for acquaintance to the convict."

In addition, it is reported that the colony's main office also received an complaint from Tymoshenko where she expresses a wish to participate in the trial, which is scheduled for February 19 this year, in the Kyiv Court of Appeals where a hearing of a witness in the Yevhen Shcherban assassination case is to take place.

"SPS started organizing the preparations for escorting the convicted. Later, in the evening, the court informed the prison service that the questioning of the witness will not be held on 19 February 2013 because of the witnesses' illness. This information was communicated to the condemned. In this regard, the need for escorting Tymoshenko ceased to exist," the press service said.
