"There was a memorandum between the companies Naftogaz of Ukraine and Turkmengaz on expanding cooperation in the oil and gas field, and this means the resumption of gas supplies to our country and Europe, and exploration in Turkmenistan," Stavitskyy told reporters on Wednesday in Ashgabat.
Responding to the question, how can the supply be restored, considering the Russian factor, the Minister replied that the answer will be given after examination by experts.
When asked on what pipeline can the supply of Turkmen gas can be resumed Stavitskyy said: "We have a pipeline, which is on the northern part of Turkmenistan and through Russia. We discussed this question. We will first reach an agreement with our colleagues from Turkmenistan and then we will go on," he said.
Speaking about the timing of the agreements, Stavitskyy noted that in the near future will exchange visits "and will develop a strategy for the development of these areas."
He also noted that the issue of volume of gas supplies will be decided later.
In addition, Stavitskyy noted that Ukraine will take part in public tenders for exploration in Turkmenistan.
The Minister said that Ukraine's participation in exploration will increase the level of trade between the two countries.
