Former Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski and former president of the European Parliament Pat Cox say that the State Penitentiary System is spreading false information that they allegedly did not make any claims or remarks upon the visit to former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko in Kharkiv hospital.

It is reported by the Interfax-Ukraine.

"After yesterday's renewal of our mandate from the Conference of the European Parliament Presidents, we, as an exception, and in spite of our practice would like to provide a brief explanation in response to the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine, issued February 5," says the statement.

"In fact, monitoring mission raised serious and urgent questions regarding the conditions of detention and are of serious concern," state the authors of the document.

Mission representatives emphasized that they reserve the right to publish their records, if anyone has any doubts.

The visit of Cox and Kwasniewski to Ukraine took place 4 - 5 February. The ex-presidents visited Menska colony, where they met with Lutsenko and Kharkiv hospital #5, where Tymoshenko is being treated.
