Opposition Seized City Hall Bringing Hundreds of Street Protesters

Representatives Svoboda and Batkivschyna captured the Pillar Hall on the second floor of the Kyiv City Council letting in about 100 protesters from the streets.

Comments reports that currently the protesters are planning further action. In particular, it has been decided not to leave the city council until tomorrow, when it is planned to review and approve the capital's budget for 2013.

As reported earlier, in the morning a meeting was held at the City Council with the participation of about 350 representatives of Svoboda, Batkivschyna, Udar, and public organizations. Their main demand was to be let inside the meeting of the City Council, where the capital's budget for 2013 was considered.

Because of the turmoil, it was decided to defer consideration of the budget tomorrow.
