This was stated by Russian Ambassador to Ukraine Mikhail Zurabov, Censor.NET reports.
"The development of situation with regard to energy cooperation, in any case, what I know now about what is supposed to be implemented in the future gas cooperation with the Ukrainian gas transportation system, Russian gas prices and a number of related issues, all of this suggests that the Russian and Ukrainian leaders have found approaches that would lead to reduction in gas prices and the revision of the contract base outside of the context of Ukraine's accession to the Customs Union," said Mikhail Zurabov.
In this regard, he said that if Ukraine joins the Customs Union, this would mean that the country will receive Russian gas for the same price at which it is for other members of the Customs Union.
He added that Gazprom's bill of $ 7 billion to Naftogaz is a signal of the need to compromise on the amount of gas purchased by Ukraine.
"We say that it is a signal to the search for a compromise. What it will be a compromise, of course, today I say with certainty I can not. A compromise must be found so that in the future this kind of problem (the selection of Ukraine contracted gas volume) did not occur," said Zurabov.
