Director of the National Information System (NIS) Larisa Horskastated that she recalled that on January 23 at a meeting of theCabinet "the objectivity and validity of the data contained in thestories of TV channel Inter were called into question regarding thesituation with tariffs for housing and communal services."
"I would like tonote that the objective news coverage of socially significantmatters - one of the main tasks of Inter TV channel. I believe thatit is the media (especially television) that has a clear, objectiveand impartial story about the difficulties and problems in allareas of life, despite to the opinion of some officials in thisregard. The task of the authorities is to solve these problems,rather than trying to blame the media of distorting the facts, thusshifting responsibility for their shortcomings," saidHorska.
However, she notedthat "editors check all the said facts and soon will be release aprogram on the subject."
