Director of the National Information System (NIS) Larisa Horska stated that she recalled that on January 23 at a meeting of the Cabinet "the objectivity and validity of the data contained in the stories of TV channel Inter were called into question regarding the situation with tariffs for housing and communal services."
"I would like to note that the objective news coverage of socially significant matters - one of the main tasks of Inter TV channel. I believe that it is the media (especially television) that has a clear, objective and impartial story about the difficulties and problems in all areas of life, despite to the opinion of some officials in this regard. The task of the authorities is to solve these problems, rather than trying to blame the media of distorting the facts, thus shifting responsibility for their shortcomings," said Horska.
However, she noted that "editors check all the said facts and soon will be release a program on the subject."
