If They Could Execute Tymoshenko - They Would Do It, Vlasenko

Deputy Serhii Vlasenko expressed confidence that there were violations in the procedure o transferring accusation of Yulia Tymoshenko in the murder of deputy Yevhen Shcherban in 1996.

He said this in an interview to Kommersant-Ukraine.

"Now we see an escalation of the situation around Yulia Tymoshenko. Charges that may lead to a life sentence, show that the government has crossed the line and is ready to destroy her physically. If they could execute Tymoshenko they would. This is not about the Prosecutor General's office doing something. It is a synchronized struggle with the opposition - the government wants to clean up the political arena before the presidential elections in 2015. They do not Tymoshenko alive. Today I have a firm belief: Yanukovych's goal is the physical removal of Tymoshenko," said the defense attorney.

In the end of last week Yulia Tymoshenko's procedural status in two criminal cases investigated by prosecutors and SSU changed. Administration of the colony informed the former Prime Minister of charges in organizing the murder of deputy Yevhen Shcherban in 1996.
