Companies of President’s Son Won 8-9 Billion in Tenders This Year

Companies associated with the eldest son of President Viktor Yanukovych, Oleksandr, in 2012 won tenders in the coal industry totaling 8-9 billion hryvnia.

Zerkalo Nedely journalists write that "In recent times it is difficult to find a business sector which would not be talking about demonic role of Oleksandr Yanukovych. Bulletin of Procurement has a direct mention of only one of his companies - Ukrainian Bank of Development which this year gave loans to state enterprises in the amount of half a billion hryvnia."

But the President's son has the biggest interest in the coal industry.

In particular, "as of the beginning of Fall several companies associated with Yanukovych, through the long and winding chains of founders / directors, reached the level of 80% of the weekly tenders in the coal industry."

"According to preliminary estimates, by the end of 2012, this group has "tendered"about 8-9 billion hryvnia," note the journalists.
