Azarov: Where did Money for Salaries Go?

Ministers are personally responsible for the payment of salaries by the ministries, stressed Prime Minister Mykola Azarov.

The Department of Information and Communication of the Cabinet of Ministers Secretariat reports that he stated it in the government meeting.

Azarov said that 5 billion hryvnia was additionally allocated for salary payments, however, some regions are sending signals of untimely payments. "We need to find out why and where the money did not go for payments and what the funds have been spent for," the head of the government set the task.

He noted that the governors will in person explain the cause of the government debt. The heads of the relevant ministries are responsible for payments to teachers, cultural workers, and health care workers.

"Not a single Ministry should have debts," said Azarov.
