Journalist Sviatoslav Tseholko writes on his Facebook page citing sources "close to Valerii Khoroshkovskyy."
"It is the end of the Ukrainian statehood. Sources close to Khoroshkovsky state that on December 18 during a visit to Moscow, the President will sign a memorandum on accession to the Customs Union with Russia. Eurointegration is canceled. This is what Yanukovych decided," he wrote. "Can we stand it?" he asks.
Earlier, sources reported that on 17-18 December, President Viktor Yanukovych is planning to visit Moscow and possibly agree on Ukraine's rapprochement with the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.
After that Yanukovych said: "We are currently harmonizing our laws, rules and regulations in accordance with the Customs Union. This is a long way, but if we do not do this then our producers face discrimination and loss of the market."
Prior to that, the Russian government called on Ukraine to join the Customs Union but the representatives of Ukrainian authorities claimed that there will be no joining the Union because they need to see how it would operate and what benefits it would provide.
