Chechetov on the Introduction of a 15% Currency Tax: We Vote on Tuesday

Discussion of the bill on the introduction of a 15% tax on the sale of foreign currency has helped to stabilize the foreign exchange market.

This opinion was stated by Party of Regions deputy Mykhailo Chechetov, Segodnya reports.

According to him, this week's plenary agenda the deputies plan to consider the draft budget for next year and the bills that are responsible for filling the treasury.

"I am confident that on Tuesday the state budget will be submitted to the parliament and we will consider it. But this is not the only bill on the agenda. Regarding the tax bill on currency transactions, you can see its effects though it has not even been voted for. The NBU has been wisely promoting it, just talking about the possibility of adoption, and the currency market has stabilized. So the law is really helpful," said the politician, adding that if the experts of the National Bank explain the deputies all its nuances and expediency, it will most probably be supported by the majority.
