The 'Miners' (Shakhtar's nickname) confidently beat Danish FC Nordsjælland 5-2. However, the fans in the Ukrainian and European forums are discussing not Shakhtar's gross violation of universally recognized Fair-play rules, writes Censor.NET.
Miner's Luis Adriano scored a goal when the Shakhtar was suppose to give the ball back to its opponent. Danes stood in amazement watching the actions of the orange-black striker who scored.
Here is what reputable Ukrainian sports journalist Artem Frankov wrote on his blog: "I want to say write away: there is no arguing that Shakhtar was by far better than Danes (note, I wrote this before the home team was steamrolled). But what the hell is that? Then there is the question on the comprehension and understanding: someone thinks that the players of Shakhtar did the right thing scoring? I think Shakhtar is up to its ears in a mess... A "European team"... remember how Lucescu was fuming when Barcelona did not return the ball from out in Donetsk? However, if you talk practice - yes, they should allow the opponents to score back but someone has to give instructions on that, a coach, maybe? Who else... What are the chances of Luce Ray or Srna reacting! I don't know! I don't know. Okay, let them explain it. I'm afraid there are very few in Shakhtar who understand what the team has done. And they could rise up by letting the Danes score! And now Europe will talk about other things and shrug at best."
Shakhtar tricked the opponents and passed on to the last 16 of the Champions League.
