 Parliament Agenda - 15% Tax on Currency Exchange and Biometric Passports

Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Lytvyn opened the session.

Today the members of parliament have to consider about 15 bills. The most important are two.

This is a bill on the introduction of Pension Fund commission from the sale of cash currency in the amount of 15% of the transaction. The corresponding bill number 11433 has been registered in the parliament on 16 November. Its initiator - Party of Regions deputy Vitaliy Khomutynnik.

After that, the Rada will consider the bills with proposals from the President: the Law of Ukraine on Amendments to the Law on Personal Data Protection, the Law "On the Single State Demographic Register."

The President vetoed it on November 19 and immediately filed a document in the parliament with his propositions. They regard the fact that Ukrainians can refuse biometric passports for religious reasons. If the document is accepted, and the President signs it, the new passport will be issued starting 1 January. The cost of the internal one will be 65 UAH (8 USD) and the passport for trips abroad - 350 UAH (43 USD).

The deputies are also planning to adopt amendments to the laws on milk and dairy products regarding the strengthening of measures to combat counterfeiting of dairy products, as well as changes to the law on the state budget for 2012 for the implementation of investment projects.
