 Yanukovych Junior Has Businesses in Switzerland and Holland

President Yanukovych's son Oleksandr has businesses in Switzerland and Holland.

A journalist investigation by the Ukrainian Pravda uncovered a Swiss company MAKO Trading SA registered on October 14, 2011, in Geneva. This company is mentioned in the schedule of Coaltrans Switzerland which discussed the matter of coal prices and trading in Europe. "The following company was registered in tour events: 02/03/12 17:00 - Mako Trading company: With HQ in Geneva we are exporters of coal and anthracite from Ukraine," says the message. Second company MAKO Holding B.V. was registered on October 27, 2011 in Hague. Its activities are supported by ITPS (Netherlands) BV law firm which deals with tax optimization.

This company also provides legal support for the activities of Dutch Metinvest BV of Rinat Akhmetov and Vadim Novinskiy. Moreover, the director of both European companies of Yanukovych is Felix Blitstein who previously headed Leman Commodities SA purchased by Akhmetov's SCM. The press service of Yanukovych's Ukrainian corporation MAKO Holding acknowledged the ownership of these European companies: "MAKO Holding BV and MAKO Trading SA companies acre created at the initiative of Oleksandr Yanukovych and are his property."

"MAKO Holding BV was created with the purpose of researching new European technology, establishing contacts with European partners and creating new production in Ukraine based on the most modern technology with attraction of foreign capital," noted the press service.

"MAKO Trading SA was created to search for new additional opportunities of sales of Ukrainian product in the European market. The companies presently have no property in Ukraine," noted the corporation's press service.
