Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Ukraine Did Not Supply Weapons to Syria

Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) claims that Ukraine has not supplied weapons to Syria.

MFA spokesperson Oleksandr Dykusarov said on Tuesday: "Ukraine has not conducted any supplies of such commodities to Syria. Ukraine strictly abides international obligations in the field of transferring commodities of military purpose."

At that he confirmed a contract for supplying weapons to Saudi Arabia. "According to our information, in 2012 we signed a contract for the supply of military purpose commodities for the needs of Saudi Arabia Ministry of Defense," said Dykusarov.

For more details on the contract the MFA told reporters to contact Ukrainian Export Control Service that deals with these matters.

Previously BBC reported sighting boxes with arms manufactured in Ukraine and sold to Saudi Arabia.
