 Verkhovna Rada Did Not Prolong Moratorium on Selling Land

Verkhovna Rada refused to prolong moratorium on selling agricultural land until January 1, 2014.

According to the Ukrainian News, corresponding bill #11106 received 111 votes in the first reading with 226 required.

Rada also refused to declare that until the law on selling land comes into effect and full land inventory is conducted but not earlier than 2014 it is prohibited to insert rights for land plots into charter capitals of business entities.

Also the bill proposed to determine that selling/buying or disposition of land in other ways is introduced on the condition that the law on land and full land inventory comes into effect.

Moreover, Rada refused to uphold a similar bill #11106-1 in the first reading co-sponsored by the head of the Communist faction Petro Symonenko. The bill also proposed to prolong the moratorium until 2014.
