 Former Head of the State Commission on Financial Markets Regulation Sentenced to 5 Years

The court hearing of the Kiev Shevchenkovskiy District Court started two hours late. The court sentenced former Head of the State Commission on Financial Markets Regulation Vasyl Volga to 5 years of incarceration.

According to UNN, the court found Vasyl Volga guilty on all counts despite the fact that he did not admit his guilt. The hearing was attended by Volga's subordinates and his wife and daughter.

Volga was accused of attempting to receive a bribe in the amount of 500 thousand US dollars in exchange for pre-term removal of the temporary administration from the First Credit Community.

Moreover, he was charged with embezzlement of 47 thousand hryvnias (6 thousand USD) of budget funds by hiring his driver Prysyazhnyuk to the State Financial Service.
