 Akhmetov's Company Left Half of Kiev Without Water

Today following the instructions of Naftogaz Ukrainy (Oil and Gas of Ukraine) National Joint Stock Company the administration of main gas pipelines KievTransGas has completely ceased the supply of gas to Heating Electrical Station-6 of Kievenergo.

The press service issued the following statement: "As of Septmber 1, 2012 the debt of Kievenergo to the gas supplier for the 'heating' gas used for population needs constituted 1.242 billion hryvnias (155 million dollars)".

The Company noted that it will be able to settle the remaining debt only after receiving the corresponding compensation from the budget.

For now the hot water will not be suplied to the residents of Desnianskii, Obolon and parts of Dneprovskii and Podol districts of Kiev. The total number of consumers left without water is 3,238 including 2,305 residential buildings, 125 schools, 164 kindergartens, 58 medical establishments, 586 departamental buildings.
