Information regarding the arrest was confirmed by the head of the oblast police press service Volodymyr Shablienko. He also noted that a criminal case was opened in regard to Kravets Jr. in accordance with part 5 of article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - 'robbery conducted by an organized group or in a large amount' (7 to 12 years of incarceration and confiscation of property).
According to Dumskaia, the Malinovskiy district court of Odessa has left the detained behind bars. Presently the deputy's son is kept in the Detention Center of the city police department.
The sources in the law enforcement claim that Dmytro Kravets was arrested for theft of equipment from expensive cars.
Kravets, a.k.a. the 'Lemon' has organized a group of people who robbed luxurious cars by taking out all the equipment. The APB for was put out by the Khmelnytsk police.
It should be noted, that it is not the first crime or arrest for Kravets. He has been involved in 13 criminal cases of car theft, robbery, fraud and counterfeiting. He was detained numerous times, tried in court but mysteriously set free.
In September 2011, the Odessa court did not arraign him on criminal charges in the case of car accident of August 22, 2009. Kravets was driving a Mercedes with fake transit licence plates at the speed of 112 km/h (70 mph) and hit three people. One of them died and the second suffered disabilities.
