The Security Service of Ukraine in conjunction with the military prosecutor's office averted delivery of components for military gas turbine engines installed on vessels of the Russian Navy from Mykolaiv to the Russian Federation.

Censor.NET reports citing the SBU press center.

The secret service operatives detained an employee of Zoria-Mashproekt SE and a local businessman trying to smuggle from the territory of the plant three units of equipment designed for monitoring gas temperature inside the gas turbine engine worth 124,000 hryvnia (about $4,600). Besides, the perpetrators attempted to smuggle out 86 nozzles for the gas turbine engine injectors and seals necessary for legitimizing the stolen equipment.

The attempt to smuggle equipment to the Russian Federation is explained by the fact that this country lacks capacity for independent serial production and repair of gas turbine equipment which was solely carried out by the Mykolaiv enterprise before 2014.
