Former Head of the State Management of Affairs (DUS) Ihor Tarasiuk has been indicted on charges of seizing the state-owned Mezhyhiria residence in favor of fugitive Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych. During a search at his place, law enforcers seized documents, 1 million euro, gold and other things.

Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.

According to Lutsenko, Tarasiuk was served an indictment as part of a probe into the the establishment of a criminal organization aimed at the seizure of the Pushcha-Vodytsia recreational complex, also known as the Mezhyhiria residence, by former President Yanukovych, his son Oleksandr, ex-Minister of Energy Stavytskyi and other persons.

"During a search at his apartment, law enforcers seized documents, 1 million euro, gold and other things relevant to the investigation. Today, the court will decide on a preventive measure against Tarasiuk," the prosecutor general said.

"As for the other suspects in the criminal proceeding that are hiding from the investigation, namely Viktor Yanukovych, Oleksandr Yanukovych, Eduard Stavytskyi and Pavlo Lytovchenko, the Prosecutor General's Office has addressed the Pechersk district court of Kyiv with a request to sanction a special pre-trial investigation," Lutsenko summed up.
