Ukraine's Chief Military Prosecutor Anatolii Matios has reported the seizure of weapons that he says were meant to be used at Maidan Nezalezhnosti Square tomorrow.

Censor.NET reports citing Matios' Facebook page.

"Thanks to the military counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine, 12 assault rifles and an SVD rifle will not be used on Maidan tomorrow," the prosecutor wrote.

According to Matios, a contract Navy serviceman of one of the units in Odesa has been detained. He ordered 12 Kalashnikov rifles and an SVD from the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area for the so-called "Odesa People's Republic." The perpetrator planned to take the weapons to Kyiv at night and use them tomorrow on Maidan.
