The parties discussed the situation in the Donbas and implementation of the Minsk agreements. Poroshenko thanked the United States for strengthening sanctions against Russia. The sides agreed to intensify diplomatic efforts to end the Russian aggression against Ukraine.
President Poroshenko emphasized importance of the IMF decision on the third tranche for Ukraine and his commitment to continue reforms.

In turn, Biden told Poroshenko that the U.S. administration is prepared to go ahead with another $1 billion sovereign loan guarantee for Kyiv to help it shore up its finances, RFE/RL reports.
