The entry and exit from Dnipro City from Zaporizhia direction have been blocked due to a huge traffic jam caused by severe weather conditions.
CEO of Mariupol-based Illich Iron and Steel Works Yurii Zinchenko wrote on Facebook that the local airport was also covered with snow.
Zinchenko advised the drivers to refrain from traveling by the highway between Dnipro City and Zaporizhia.
"This is Dnipro City in gridlock… The airport is closed… The roads are just unsuitable for travelling... I strongly advise the drivers not to travel in this direction... The entry and exit from Dnipro City from the direction of Zaporizhia has been blocked due to a huge traffic jam," Zinchenko wrote.
Dnipro City Mayor Borys Filatov ordered to close schools until Friday.
"Natural disaster," Filatov wrote on Facebook.
Earlier, the Road Traffic Safety Directorate urged the residents of areas affected by severe weather to refrain from traveling by cars and especially from making long-distance trips.
