She will definitely vacate the post someday, - Poroshenko on Hontareva's resignation

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko was vague about resignation of the National Bank head.

As reported by Censor.NET citing 112 Ukraine TV channel, Poroshenko evaded giving a straight answer about the early resignation of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Head Valeria Hontareva at yesterday's session of Petro Poroshenko Bloc (PPB) faction.

Asked when the NBU head would tender her resignation, the head of state said: "Hontareva will definitely vacate her post. Someday."

The media reported April 3 that the NBU head had submitted a letter of resignation. The corresponding information was spread by the media citing PPB faction MP Iryna Lutsenko yesterday morning.

Iryna Lutsenko said following the PPB faction session: "It was the fifth report on [resignation of] Hontareva spread by the media, but not her own statement. She satisfies the faction, she satisfies the government, and she satisfies the president.

"Hontareva still occupies this post, she gets the job done. Moreover, this information is distorted. I want to disprove these statements and confirm that the National Bank head still occupies her position," newly elected PPB Head Herasymov said.

Asked a follow-up question whether Hontareva had tendered her resignation, he said: "Of course not!"
