 St. Petersburg bombing kills nine, injures over 20, - Russian Anti-Terrorism Committee update

Russia's National Anti-Terrorism Committee (NAC) reports nine killed and more than 20 injured as a result of an explosion on the St. Petersburg metro.

"According to preliminary information, an explosion on the St. Petersburg metro killed nine and injured more than 20 people, including serious injuries," Interfax reports citing the NAC press service.

Earlier, the press service for the governor of St. Petersburg reported 10 dead and 50 injured.

According to the city health committee, 25 people have been hospitalized, including one child.

On AprIl 3, a blast occurred at the Tekhnologicheskiy Institut station, in the center of Russia's second city. According to Open Russia NGO, there were two explosions: the first blast rocked the Tekhnologicheskiy Institut station while the second one occurred between the Sennaya Ploshchad and Tekhnologicheskiy Institut stations.

As reported by Gazeta.ru and RBC, at least 10 people died in the bombing. TASS news agency reported an unidentified explosive device was triggered on a metro train.
