 Eight servicemen wounded as militants shelled Ukrainian positions 81 times yesterday, - ATO Staff

The ATO units fired back in order to reduce the militants' firing activity.

The Russian hybrid forces attacked the positions of Ukrainian army 81 times over the past 24 hours. Six servicemen of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) forces were wounded and two suffered injuries, Censor.NET reports citing the ATO press center.

The greatest number of attacks was recorded in the Mariupol sector. The militants used weapons banned by the Minsk agreements. Ukrainian positions near Vodiane and Chermalyk were fired from 122 mm artillery, machine guns and grenade launchers. Ukrainian forces near Shyrokyne and Pavlopil were mortared with 120 mm shells. The militants also shelled Shyrokyne, Pavlopil, Vodiane, Talakivka and Krasnohorivka with 82 mm mortars. Militants' snipers were spotted at Novotroitske, Shyrokyne and Vodiane. The militants fired at Ukrainian forces near Shyrokyne from ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft auto-cannon. Anti-tank missile system fired at Krasnohorivka. Militants' tank fired at Ukrainian servicemen near Marinka.

In the Donetsk sector, the militants displayed the greatest activity in Avdiivka, Novhorodske, Opytne and Troitske. Over the past 24 hours, the Russian hybrid forces fired at the Ukrainian positions from large-caliber machine guns, grenade launchers, 120 and 82 mm mortars. The militants used small arms and 82 mm mortars in the vicinity of Zaitseve and Pisky. Strongholds near Nevelske and Kamianka came under large-caliber machine guns and grenade launchers fire.

In the Luhansk sector, the militants attacked Ukrainian positions near Novozvanivka with grenade launchers, machine guns and 82 mm mortars.
