On the night of March 24, a Russian Guard base was attacked near Naursky district in northwestern Chechnya. A group of armed militants, taking advantage of fog, tried to penetrate the territory of the military base, but were spotted by the military and engaged in combat. Six National Guard servicemen and six gunmen were killed. Three servicemen were wounded.
As reported, the fighting lasted for several hours.
