"Lviv produces 600 tons of waste each day," - Sadovyi offers to establish landfill in Chornobyl

Lviv Mayor Andrii Sadovyi believes a reserve dump site can be easily set up in the exclusion zone.

Censor.NET reports citing HalInfo.

"The Chornobyl exclusion zone can be a good place for a landfill for the entire country," Sadovyi said at a briefing today.

"Lviv produces 600 tons of waste each day. God forbid, another city will face the same trouble. Kyiv produces 3,000 tons of waste per day. We have the Chornobyl zone. Why don't we set up a reserve dump site for the whole country there?" he added.

Sadovyi says he is ready to co-finance the establishment of such a landfill: "As the mayor at the expense of the city community."

He again complained about the decision of all the regional councils to not allow waste from other regions into their territory.
