 "Our reform is revolution of dignity in healthcare system," - Suprun

The reform of Ukraine's healthcare system is intended to allow paying for treatment rather than stay in the hospital.

Acting Health Minister Ulana Suprun said at a meeting of the Regional Development Council, Censor.NET reports citing 112 Ukraine.

"Our reform is a revolution of dignity in healthcare system, a dignity for the patients, because we are changing the very basis. We are starting to pay for treatment rather than stay in the hospital. A dignity for doctors, because we revive the very essence of their profession - serving other people - and provide decent wages.

"We are launching the National Health Service of Ukraine that will finance the provision of medical services to citizens. We are giving a free hand to local authorities for the best use of available resources and intensive development," she said.

The Ministry of Health claims to have studied available international experience and chosen the most suitable model for Ukraine.
