Censor.NET reports citing the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) Staff press center quoting Ukrainian fighter Pavlo Kamyshanov, the senior soldier on the harassed position.
He points at the spoil heaps in the distance: "They are deployed over there. Positions of their lookouts and snipers are behind the heaps. There they hide tanks, infantry fighting vehicles and mortars: they use all this against the houses of civilians."
"It seems the enemy has recently had a rotation, because we have seen a change in the tactics. They've started to resort to kind of bandit raids: an IFV comes out and fires, machine guns or AA guns follow. Then, the IFV moves to a new position and fires again while machine guns keep silent for a while. At the end, they may fire several mortar rounds. This "performance" does not last long, so we often fail to react. In truth, these attacks don't hurt us since our positions are safe enough, but civilians sometimes catch hell. The other day, a shell hit a nearby house: luckily no one was inside," the fighter said.
