Serbian MPs’ visit to occupied Crimea encourages Kremlin's criminal policy, Ukraine Foreign Ministry says

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine strongly condemns the visit of a group of Serbian lawmakers to the Autonomous Republic of Crimea temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation.

Censor.NET reports citing the Foreign Ministry's statement.

"Despite numerous warnings from the Ukrainian side, the Serbian politicians have defiantly violated Ukrainian legislation and international law and publicly called to recognize Crimea the territory of the Russian Federation thus neglecting the official position of the Republic of Serbia, which firmly stands for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

"We consider the actions of these politicians a total disregard for the key principles of international law, first of all, the sovereignty and territorial integrity of independent states, and their encouragement of Russia's criminal policy aimed at repeated and large-scale violations of human rights in the occupied peninsula.

"The trespassers will be brought to account under the current Ukrainian legislation. We also count on the appropriate assessment of their actions by the Serbian authorities.
