Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yurii Lutsenko wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.
"London is no longer a "quiet haven" for high-ranking fugitives. As a result of the well-coordinated cooperation between the Prosecutor General's Office and their British counterparts, on March 15 another "hero" of Ukraine, ex-head of Ukrspetsexport Serhii Bondarchuk was arrested as part of an extradition process in London," he wrote.
According to Lutsenko, the final decision on Bondarchuk's extradition is to be shortly taken by the Royal Court. The date of the hearing should be determined as early as March 24.
"The Prosecutor General's Office has armed its British colleagues with convincing arguments for securing the extradition of the offender. My visit to London in November 2016 has proved fruitful," the prosecutor general added.
In February 2015, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine put former head of Ukrspetsexport Serhii Bondarchuk on the wanted list. Later, Interpol declared Bondarchuk internationally wanted.
