Luxembourg Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn told LigaBusinessInform after his Donbas visit with Ukraine counterpart Pavlo Klimkin several days ago, Censor.NET reports.
Asselborn said that a year ago Klimkin told him that the best way to understand the Donbas and the Minsk accords was to travel there, not only in Kyiv. Asselborn says Klimkin was right, and his trip to the Donbas earlier this week was intensive. The FM saw what everyone should see prior to speaking of the Donbas, he says.
Asselborn says he has seen Ukraine's suffering and solidarity on the example of the Dnipro hospital, which is one of the closest to the combat area and regularly accepts wounded soldiers from the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area. The minister says he has seen the war, which is an active military conflict, and not a frozen one.
He says the EU should be more persistent in its calls to stop the fighting in the region. A solution to stop the Donbas war is needed, he said. The EU and the Minsk should do their best to advance in the right direction, Asselborn said.
