Russian singer Yulia Samoilova, who will represent Russia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv, took part in a gala concert organized in June 2015 by occupiers in Crimea.
This spring, the capital of Ukraine will host the 62nd international Eurovision Song Contest. 43 countries have confirmed their participation in the competition. This is a record number of participants, which the Eurovision history has seen only twice - in 2008 and 2011. The International Exhibition Center in Kyiv, the country's biggest exhibition center with an area of about 58,000 square meters, has been chosen for the main stage. Semifinals will be held in Kyiv on May 9 and 11, while the grand finale will take place on May 13.
