 120 mm mortars, tanks, IFVs, Grads: militants attacked Ukrainian positions 82 times yesterday, - Staff

The situation in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area in the east of Ukraine remains tense. Over the past 24-hour period, 82 attacks by the Russia-supported troops upon Ukraine Armed Forces were recorded.

As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced by the ATO Staff's press center on its Facebook page.

"In violation of existing agreements, Russian terrorist troops shell the strongpoints of the Ukrainian defenders from weapons of 100 mm caliber and up," the message reads.

In Mariupol direction, the invaders employed 120 mm mortars against positions in Shyrokyne, Novotroitske, Marinka, and Krasnohorivka. Shyrokyne was also impacted by a tank. 82 mm mortars, large caliber machine guns, and grenade launchers were fired upon Hnutove. The enemy employed an IFV and SPG upon Vodiane. Pavlopil and Chermalyk were impacted from large caliber machine guns and grenade launchers of various systems.

"In Donetsk direction, it was unquiet in Avdiivka, where the enemy used small arms, machine guns of large caliber, grenade launchers, mortars, and tanks. By 7 p.m., Grad BM-21 MLRS joined the shelling. ATO forces' strong points near Nevelske, Verkhniotoretske and Zaitseve, Opytne and Kamianka were impacted by 82 mm mortars. Defenders of Butivka mine were attacked with an IFV and SPG. 120 mm mortars shelled Luhanske," the report says.

In Luhansk direction, Russian occupants fired large caliber machine guns and grenade launchers upon positions at Valuiske, Novooleksandrivka, and Novozvanivka. Defenses in Krymske village area were attacked with 120 mm mortars.

On March 11, Russian troops committed 75 attacks upon Ukraine's Army positions.
