 Brazen attack in downtown Kyiv: gunman shoots man dead, wounds his two kids. PHOTO

An unknown person opened fire at a driver of a Mercedes-Benz CLS at Antonovycha Street in Kyiv.

As reported by Censor.NET, a spokesperson for Ukraine's National Police told Hromadske.TV.

Kyiv.operatyvnyi news outlet reports that the driver died on the spot, his two children were wounded. They were taken to a hospital. No details on their condition have been reported yet.

Main Directorate of the National Police later issued an update: "The incident occurred in Kyiv's Holosiivskyi district. The crime scene teams of the main and district police directorates arrived at the scene. The law enforcers examined the scene and found that the attacker presumably made six shots with a Makarov handgun.

"Upon arrival, the investigators established that the children who were in the car had been brought to Okhmatdyt hospital. Their condition is being specified.

"The offense was identified as a murder; criminal proceeding were initiated under article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The murdered person was identified as a local businessman.

"The police are searching for witnesses and carrying out minute examination of the nearby territory. The law enforcers are making every effort to establish all the details of the incident and those involved in the murder," the statement reads.
