Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine quoting the Bankova press service.
"Since the recent escalation in the Donbas, in order to stop repeated attacks on Avdiivka and restore power supply, as well as to liberate hostages, in particular Oleh Sentsov and Roman Sushchenko, the Ukrainian president has held two telephone conversations with the Russian president," the press service said, noting that these contacts were coordinated with other Normandy format partners.
Since the talks were unsuccessful, no special report was issued to cover them, the press service added.
Earlier, Russia's Kommersant reported Putin and Poroshenko has had four phone calls since the beginning of 2017, with the most recent talk taking place on Feb. 21.
