As reported by Censor.NET, she said it on Facebook, commenting on the remarks by German Ambassador in Ukraine Ernst Reichel that elections in the Donbas can be held even with Russian troops in place.
"Together with colleagues I express outrage at the remarks of German Ambassador Ernst Reichel that elections in the Donbas can be held in the presence of Russian troops. We demand an explanation and refutation!" she said.
Herashchenko sees the ambassador's line as undiplomatic and offensive to Ukraine and Ukrainians. It also comes in the days when the country is burying its best fighters "who protect in particular the ambassador's right to feel safe in Kyiv and give interviews."
She also stressed that this position is at odds with the Minsk agreements and their security section that stipulates an immediate cease-fire and the withdrawal of foreign troops.
Herashchenko also recalled that these statements contradict the official position of Germany and Chancellor Angela Merkel.
"This is not the first unacceptable, undiplomatic, public statement by an ambassador, which is frankly playing into the hands of the occupant, the Russian Federation. We are waiting for a strong reaction by the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry to these statements. And by the German one as well. Perhaps Germany should consider changing the ambassador that provoked an indignation among all political forces that shape the parliament of independent Ukraine," she said.
She also invited Reichel to visit Avdiivka, Krasnohorivka, Shyrokyne, Marinka, so that he could "monitor" with his own eyes the readiness of the Donbas for elections under Russia's Grad fire.
"It is not farther than rear and secure Sloviansk that the ambassador only happened to travel (and then accompanying Minister Steinmeier)," the deputy speaker said.
Earlier, Reichel said in an interview it was not necessarily that the elections in the Donbas will take place only when there will be no Russian troops or Ukrainian flag will be posted on each city administration.
About 30 Verkhovna Rada deputies are calling on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to summon Reichel in connection with his statements.
