The participants marched from the Arsenalna metro station to the Askold Grave Church, which is the place of burial of the young men killed hundred years ago. The memorial service for the victims was held in front of the church, Censor.NET reports.
The Battle of Kruty took place on Jan. 29, 1918 near Kruty railway station, about 130 kilometers northeast of Kyiv. A small Ukrainian unit of 400 soldiers (mostly students) confronted 4,000 Bolshevik soldiers, commanded by Mikhail Muravyov, who advanced toward Kyiv. Most of the young men were killed in the battle.
