This very letter was demonstrated by Russian representative Vitaly Churkin at the U.N. Security Council meeting on March 3, 2014.
"In this context, I appeal to the President of Russia Vladimir V. Putin to use the armed forces of the Russian Federation to re-establish the rule of law, peace, order, stability and to protect the people of Ukraine," the letter reads.
Churkin confirmed the authenticity of the demonstrated document with his letter.
Both the letter of Yanukovych and that of Churkin have been used as substantive evidence in the treason case against Viktor Yanukovych since November 2016, a law enforcement source told Censor.NET.
Yanukovych himself confirmed the authenticity of the letter at a news conference in Russia's Rostov-on-Don.
