 Ukraine, Switzerland agree to speed up joint efforts to investigate crimes and return attached assets of Ukrainian ex-officials

Presidents of Switzerland Doris Leuthard and Ukraine Petro Poroshenko agreed to speed up joint steps in the investigation of crimes of former authorities and return of frozen assets that are now stored in Swiss banks.

Censor.NET reports citing Poroshenko's press office.

"We agreed to speed up common steps in the investigation of crimes of former authorities and return of frozen assets that are now stored in Swiss banks. We defined clear schedule and coordination of cooperation of the Ministries of Justice and Prosecutor General's Offices that must bring the results soon and return the money to Ukraine," the president said.

According to Poroshenko, the president of Switzerland noted that Ukraine needed the mentioned funds to maintain reforms.
