"U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has unique opportunities for using all his influence to support Ukraine in its struggle for freedom and democracy," President Petro Poroshenko said in an interview to Bloomberg during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Censor.NET reports citing the president's press office.
Ukrainian president emphasized that Ukraine had received significant support from the U.S. over the past years.
Poroshenko in his interview reminded that he had been among the first global leaders whom U.S. President-elect Donald Trump had called. In the course of that phone conversation, the parties agreed on the visit of the Ukrainian president to the U.S. following the U.S. president's inauguration.
