 Ukroboronprom upgrades over 20 combat helicopters for Ukrainian army. VIDEO

In 2016, Konotop Aircraft Repair Plant ”Aviakon,” a subsidiary of Ukroboronprom (Ukrainian defense production) state concern, repaired and modernized more than two dozen military helicopters.

Special attention is paid to the modernization of Mi-24PU1 attack helicopter, equipped with modern electronics, new engines, powerful weapons and enhanced protection, including Adros countermeasure system. The system foils heat-seeking missiles, protecting helicopter from man-portable air defense systems Igla and Stinger, as well as from air-to-air missiles R-60 and R-73.

"State orders have always been of priority for our enterprise. And given the situation in the east of the country, Ukrainian army orders are fulfilled as early as possible," Aviakon's acting director Ihor Marchenko said.
