Former Naftohaz official's suicide linked to Boiko rigs affair, - PGO spokesman

Prosecutor General spokesperson Larysa Sarhan has unveiled some details of the suicide of the former Naftohaz executive.

Censor.NET reports citing Sarhan's Facebook page.

"The Prosecutor General's Office has conducted a number of searches as part of the probe into the embezzlement of the funds of Chornomornaftohaz PJSC, a subsidiary of Ukraine's state-owned oil and gas company Naftohaz, during the purchase of floating jackup rigs [so-called 'Boiko rigs' due to their owner, former MP Yurii Boiko - Ed.].

"After the investigation team entered one of the searched premises, they found the dead body of a Naftohaz Ukrainy former deputy chairman who probably shot a firearm at the time the investigators were getting in.

"The crime scene group is examining the details behind the incident," Sarhan wrote.
