No amnesty for separatists until active phase of conflict ends, - Iryna Herashchenko

Pro-Russian militants will not be granted amnesty until the active phase of hostilities ends in eastern Ukraine.

As reported by Censor.NET citing Ukrainski Novyny, this was announced by First Vice Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's representative in the humanitarian subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group on the settlement of the situation in the Donbas Iryna Herashchenko on air of 112 Ukraine.

"As far as the amnesty [for Donbas militants by Ukraine - ed.] is concerned, this is a totally different item of the Minsk agreements, and an amnesty is granted in any country after the completion of the active phase of the conflict. In the meantime, we sustain daily attacks," Herashchenko said.

As previously reported, Russia's representative in the Trilateral Contact Group Boris Gryzlov called on President Petro Poroshenko to declare amnesty for participants in the conflict before Christmas.
